The DUET™ system employs dual mode pulse reflectometry: acoustic and ultrasonic
- A single probe simultaneously injects two types of pulses down the tube
- Two Modes Operating in Parallel –Acoustic and Ultrasonic
- Acoustic pulse (Acoustic Pulse Reflectometry – APR): a pulse is sent down the air inside the tube
- Ultrasonic pulse (Ultrasonic Pulse Reflectometry- UPR): a pulse is sent down the tube walls
- Multi-sensor arrays send signals and record returned echoes generated by defects
- Patented algorithms identify and report location, type and size of defect
Defects in the tube create typical signatures in the reflected waves, which are different for each modality.
