SCL – Signal Conditioner Circuit-breaker Coil Monitor
One of the highest failurs found in high and medium voltage circuit-breakers is that drive coils open or burn – there is one coil to close and two coils to open the circuit-breaker.
To detect a failure, the SCL has inputs for monitoring the electrical continuity of up to 3 coils simultaneously, with independent alarm contacts to indicate faults for each coil.
Coil monitoring circuits are galvanically isolated from each other, allowing for monitoring coils powered from different power sources.
As well asmonitoring coil status, the SCL Circuit-Breaker Supervisor monitors auxiliary supply voltage and provides an indication of a fault in one of the circuit-breaker’s supply voltages. The SCL also offers:
- Monitoring of coils supplied with voltages of from 80 to 300 Vcc;
- Self-diagnostic function;
- Four alarm contacts, one per coil and one for self-diagnostic and lack of supply;
- A RS485 serial port with DNP3.0 or Modbus RTU open protocols;
- Self-diagnostic warning through local LED
- Small dimensions, 35 mm DIN mount, in control panels or in the circuit-breaker panel itself;
- Auxiliary power supply between 38 and 265 Vcc/Vca.
