The Mini RFI Locator is a compact, easy-to-use tool for locating power line sparking which causes radio and TV interference.
Designed for use by field personnel, the Mini Locator combines a sensitive receiver, analog meter, speaker and antenna, all in one hand-held unit.
Frequency and gain control knobs enable the operator to optimize reception of RFI signals. The four-element Yagi antenna provides additional gain and superior direction finding.
PD sources are located by pointing the antenna toward a power line and listening for the distinctive RFI noise. The pole demonstrating the highest noise level indicates the source.
