Established in 2004, EHT International inc., specializes in the development and manufacture of motor mechanisms for disconnect switches as well as condition monitoring and analysis in real-time of switch operations. Switch status and control are communicated through systems compatible with the majority of protocols used in substations. EHT’s flagship product, the iMCC / iCOD is a universal smart motor operator for medium to high voltage disconnect switches. Incorporating a variable speed and smart control, the iMCC contains an optical positioning device, a monitoring unit and a SCADA / DNP3.0 / IEC61850 communication module. The iMCC significantly improves the operation of all makes and models of switches, increasing their lifetime and allowing detection of blockages and misalignments in real time during operations. The equipment now allows the implementation of a preventive maintenance program for disconnect switches and will notify the user when problems are detected.
EHT’s motor operator / condition monitor disconnect has sparked interest of many electric companies around the world since the launch of the iMCC in 2012. iMCCs are currently installed in Canada, the United States, Mexico, India, Australia and the Philippines.
Skills and Expertise
EHT International owns various patents on advanced control of disconnect switches and real-time detection of failures during operation. The company has advanced expertise in electronic design for high-voltage environment use, advanced electronic design skills (Ethernet and serial communication, filtering, isolation, overload protection, etc.) and design of firmware and software.
EHT also has mechanical expertise to develop mechanical designs of cabinets and high performance transmissions made to operate in the most rugged conditions (cold and extreme heat, salt air, high humidity, etc.).
